Math
In Math this week, we were engaged in looking through flyers to come up with exact prices for items we use in a day before leaving our homes. We then had the opportunity to create a receipt and add these items together to find out our overall prices. We worked together to place each of our items into categories. In category one, we put “breakfast” items. Category two was “clothes” and category three was “bathroom” items. Also, we were engaged in creating our own visuals which had price tags attached to our visuals, then we added up the total prices of our items. We worked hard making sure our decimal points were lined up to find out the total of our items.

Science
In Science this week we learned about how clouds form, the different types of clouds and how to identify these clouds. We were engaged in creating our own cloud cards, involved in making clouds using cotton balls and paint, and gained a deeper understanding on the different types of clouds. We also created math equations about a chosen cloud. For example: A group created an equation about cirrus clouds and it goes like this… (Wispy + high = cirrus clouds). On our final day in the cloud unit, we were engaged in an experiment by creating a cloud in a jar! Stay tuned for next week when we create our own turbine pinwheel!

Humanities
In Humanities this week, we continued to work on our newspaper articles. We received lots of peer review feedback from our teachers, peers and our self. Before finishing our final copy of our newspaper article, we made sure that we had our hook, name, date, and peer edits in our paper before we handed in our final copy. Students will be uploading these articles and their reflections on IRIS this week so stay tuned for this.

Literacy
This week in Literacy, we worked on our scripts for our learning celebration which will be happening in 2 weeks! We were super busy working on our scripts, practicing as a class, and becoming familiar which each of our roles! We are very excited to show our learning.
