Students have been working on their scripts for Canadian history. They compared a novel version of a story and analyzed the way they translated the information into a movie script.
They have been working with puppeteer Wendy to start bringing their puppets to life.
Rule 1: EYES The puppeteer must always be looking at their puppet when they are performing. This draws the audiences eyes to the puppet and helps the performers focus on getting into their character.
Rule 2: VOICE You must project so your audience doesn't lose interest.
Rule 3: MOVEMENT What actions can you make your puppet do to help your story?
Rule 4: FEELINGS What would your character be feeling and reacting to other characters or the storyline?
Rule 5: SCRIPT - What have you written in the script to help the puppeteers bring life to their characters?
To get started on volume students were shown a picture of a U-HAUL truck and they had to try to estimate the dimensions to figure out how many students could fit into the U-HAUL truck at once.
