These are the times teachers are available for a video conference or phone call through Virtual Classroom on D2L. We are available outside of these hours as well to answer any questions you may have via email during regular school hours (8:00am – 2:30pm). We encourage students to use this platform to communicate with us as they engage in their learning.

STEPS TO ACCESS D2L BRIGHTSPACE

D2L Brightspace is CBE's supported learning management system. It is a fully functional, mobile friendly, accessible environment for students, teachers and parents.

There is no need to download an app! Just log into Brightspace on your mobile device. It's that simple! 

Step 1: Click here (https://d2l.cbe.ab.ca/) This will take you to D2L Brightspace as seen below.

Step 2: Click "Sign In" under CBE Students and Staff.

Use your child's CBE ID Number and password to login. 

This is the login information your child uses at school to access our CBE computers. 

Step 3: Click on your child's course. Have fun exploring and learning!

The first set of tasks will be available for viewing on Thursday April 2nd. 
Here is what your D2L will look like on Thursday. The circles are there to indicate where you would click on your device to find this page.

D2L WEEKLY CONTENT UPLOAD

Each week, your child will receive an outline of the tasks they need to complete. This will be found on the main page of the course under "Announcements". This can be used as a checklist to keep them on track. These tasks will be released on Thursday mornings. You will be able to access 5 hours worth of literacy and mathematics tasks to complete by the following Wednesday evening. 

i.e. On Thursday April 9th, the first series of lessons will be posted on D2L Brightspace. These lessons will need to be completed by Wednesday April 15th. The next week's worth of lessons will be available starting on Thursday April 16th. 

PASSWORD RESET (IF NECESSARY)

Easy! Step 1: Click here. This will take you to the student password hub as seen below.

 Step 2: Click on the Change my Password Tab. 
It is the purple bar at the bottom.

 Step 3: You will be prompted to complete the information below

A. Enter your child's CBE#  

B. Enter your old password. 

C. Enter your new password two times  

Step 4: Click OK to complete the process 

Step 5: You will be prompted with two options for how to reset a forgotten password in the future. We recommended using Option 1 and entering a parent's email address here for Grade 5/6 students to make this step as easy as possible. 

Don't forget to toggle the box beside the option you choose.

 Scroll to the bottom of the page and enter the same parent email address you entered under option number one. Then click save. 

Now your password reset is complete and you can exit the window.
